We are proud of the diverse team working to build a new town centre for London. Here at British Land, we recognise that it takes variety of thinking, cultures and perspectives to create thriving neighbourhoods where people want to live and work. The Canada Water development will offer people opportunities regardless of their background, ability or gender.

With the London Design Festival in full swing, the third instalment of our video series “Women of Canada Water”, introduces some of the women designing the buildings where the people of the area will live, work and play.

Meredith Hull, an Associate at architects and interior designers Conran and Partners shares how she loves to work in buildings she’s helped to design, while Sarah La Touche, whose team at Allies and Morrison designed The Founding, talks about her excitement at seeing designs come to life that are the product of collaboration with the local community and those who will use the buildings. Grazia Comai from Townshend Landscape Architects tells us how she loves the chance to be creative while making a positive impact. We also meet British Land’s project director Arianna Ricciotti, who talks about working through the different aspects of a building throughout its life.

All four also reveal the biggest challenges they’ve had to overcome in their careers, share their thoughts on where the future for women in the field of architecture is going, how women’s unique perspective on urban spaces is increasingly giving them a seat at the table, and how the sector is working to provide fair equity to women.

If you’d like to find out more about the roles being created in various fields by the Canada Water development, please email, call 0800 470 4593, visit or keep an eye on noticeboards around the site.
