Investigation works – Canada Water Dock (western edge)

Share this post:

As part of a programme of works to determine ground conditions and locate the position of underground utilities as part of the Canada Water Masterplan, three trial pits will be dug along Deal Porters Way (either in the pavement or a combination of pavement/highway) from 20 June for ten days.

The temporary 4-way traffic lights already in place at the junction of Surrey Quays Road and Deal Porters Way will remain to allow the works to be carried out in a safe manner. The existing pedestrian crossing close to the Dock Offices will be out of use during this time and a temporary crossing facility provided to allow pedestrians to continue crossing the road safely. Temporary ramps will be provided giving full pedestrian access to the footway.

Pedestrians will be guided around the temporary works during this period. The shopping centre will remain open as usual and there will be no disruption for those using buses or the car park.

Temporary removal of bikes

Those who park their bikes on the cobbled area next to Canada Water Dock (junction of Surrey Quays Road/Deal Porters Way) are being asked to remove them by 15 June to allow a trial pit to be dug at this location. The footway/highway and bicycle racks will be reinstated as soon as the works complete. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
