Ground investigation works – Surrey Quays Shopping Centre Car Park / entrance to Dock Office Car Park

As part of a programme of works to determine ground conditions as part of the Canada Water Masterplan, five trial pits will be dug in the northern end of Surrey Quays Car Park and one in the entrance to the Dock Office Car Park from 15 April for approximately two weeks. The trial pit in the entrance of the Dock Office Car Park should take place over one day only.

The trial pits will be dug mainly by hand with the assistance of some electrical equipment, so as to allow ground samples to be collected. All trial pits will then be backfilled. Working hours will be 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.

Some parking bays will be out of use temporarily as the small team digs each trial pit and backfills it safely. Please pay close attention to the diversion signs within the car park. The Shopping Centre will remain open as usual.
