Are you in year 12, at a school or college and considering a career in property?  The Pathways to Property Summer School is now open to applications, and could support you to learn about the property industry through a variety of activities and experiences as well as about student life and higher education. The week-long Summer School takes place at Reading University, and all costs including accommodation, food, travel and activities are covered by the programme.

The programme is varied and covers key themes for the industry today, from sustainability to housing and regenerating cities. You’ll also go on site visits and campus tours, and participate in activities led by graduates and industry professionals to help build up a real in depth understanding.

There is also the opportunity for further work placements after the summer school, with British Land, a sponsor of the programme, being amongst past employers that previous local graduates have gone on to work for, as well as our suppliers.

Who is the Summer School for?

The Summer School is open to Year 12 students from UK state schools and colleges and is free to attend, with places offered to those who best meet the following criteria:

• Students from neighbourhoods with low overall progression rates to higher education or high levels of socio-economic deprivation.
• Students who have achieved A and B grades at GCSE and are on track to achieve similar grades at A level or equivalent.
• Students with no immediate family working in the real estate industry.
• Be available from Monday 22 July – Thursday 25 July 2019, when the Summer School will take place.
