We have a winner!

British Land recently asked the young people of Canada Water, Surrey Quays and Rotherhithe to design a t-shirt based on the theme “Wildlife in Canada Water”, to celebrate the green spaces across Canada Water, Rotherhithe and Surrey Quays. With over 40 great entries from local schools and organisations it was difficult to pick just one.

Participants were encouraged to take inspiration from the rich and diverse local environment, including Canada Dock, Russia Dock Woodlands, Surrey Docks Farm, Stave Hill Ecological Park, Southwark Park or any wildlife hotspots they like to visit around the area. We would like to thank everyone who took part and shared their designs, which captured the beautiful wildlife of the area so creatively.

Our congratulations go 13-year-old Elsie from the Paper Garden Generators. Her bold design celebrating local wildlife and community impressed the judges with its impactful styling, use of colour and cheerful feel, as well as its clear community feel.

Elsie’s design will be printed into t-shirts ready to give away to the community at the Rotherhithe Festival on Saturday 3 August. Be sure to drop in to get your hands on one!
