Time and Talents held a Vintage Tea Party on 18th May for Dementia Awareness Week, in partnership with Surrey Quays Shopping Centre and supported by British Land. The event launched their new pop-up space, T&T2, in the CWM Hub opposite Tesco at the Surrey Quays Shopping Centre.
50 people living with Dementia, as well as their carers and members of Time and Talent’s Stroke and Visually impaired groups, were invited for high tea which was prepared and served by 21 volunteers from BBC Worldwide.
Entertainment included Time and Talent’s resident accordionist, a singing instructor from Alzheimer’s Society, and a visit from the Pearly King and Queen. It was a fantastic afternoon of chatting, singing, dancing, and delicious cakes!
Time & Talents have taken on a temporary lease of the CWM Consultation Hub, lasting for the duration of the planning process, to bring the space to life whilst it is not being used for ongoing Canada Water Masterplan consultation.
Time & Talents will host a variety of events at the consultation hub, including crafting workshops, family activities and community parties. They will also rent the space to third parties to deliver community activities in line with their ethos and aims. Bookings will be taken by Time & Talents, for times that the unit is not being used for Canada Water Masterplan Consultation events or their own events.
