Register your interest for construction job opportunities in the local area
1 Minute Read
It’s one of our key project aims that the construction and operation of the Canada Water Masterplan provides meaningful employment opportunities for the local area and wider Southwark residents.
We have agreed employment and training targets with Southwark Council as part of our Section 106 agreement and will be working with our supply chain – the construction contractors and their sub-contractors – to identify and deliver these opportunities, including apprenticeships. We expect to be able to share information on vacancies and training opportunities in spring 2021 so please sign up to the project mailing list by contacting team@canadawatermasterplan.com and note your interest in construction employment to be notified.
More immediately, the preparatory works for the construction of the Canada Water Masterplan are being undertaken by Galldris Group and Keltbray. Galldris have some initial vacancies for the following roles:
- Groundworker (deadline Friday 16 October)
- Banksman (deadline Friday 16 October)
Please visit their website for details and to apply and register interest with them directly for future opportunities. We expect to share vacancy information from Keltbray towards the end of the month. All Phase 1 construction roles at Canada Water will be paid at least the London Living Wage.
If you’re thinking about a career in construction but aren’t sure where to start, then we would encourage you to get in touch with the Southwark Construction Skills Centre to explore training opportunities and careers advice.
