Project Update
1 Minute Read
London Authority, Transport for London, Southwark Council and other developers operating in the area to explore the transport solutions needed to unlock the Canada Water Opportunity Area and Housing Zone.
We’ve held a number of community consultation activities, working with local groups to gather more input to inform proposals for the uses, activities, and design and inclusivity of the public streets and spaces. This has included Topic Discussion sessions in July, a case-study site visit to King’s Cross, a youth engagement ideas workshop, meetings with local residents and a special event for young people – Urban Exchange.
Over the summer, we employed a Canada Water Masterplan Youth Engagement Intern from SE16, to work on a number of initiatives to gather young peoples’ views and ideas at a number of summer events, as well as forming links with other local organisations.
What’s next
The masterplan work is in progress and in early 2018 we’ll be back to share the masterplan ahead of the planning application in Spring 2018. We’ll also be holding pre-Christmas topic sessions and will be sending out a newsletter in the coming weeks with full details.
